The ‘displacement textures & photogrammetry’ project was born as part of an ongoing academic research at Kingston University, UK. The main aim of it was to recreate real objects inside a 3d application via the use of photogrammetry, both for architectural visualization and game development.
This technique can be used for multiple purposes, such as recreating objects or textures for architecture, or having complex geometries inside a game engine. The process covered below shows the work done, which can be recreated for large scale scanning – such as in buildings or for interior scanning.
